Zynga has announced they have appointed the former EA executive Steven Chiang to be president of their development studios. Chiang has 17 years of experience with 15 of those at EA. At EA, Chiang oversaw the EA Sports division including the massive Madden NFL Football franchise.

Zynga hopes that Chiang will be able to double the company’s efforts in social gaming. The social game company is now in competition with EA who recently acquired Playfish. The social gaming market looks to be growing even though there is 83 million monthly FarmVille players. Where will Zynga go next? Who knows.
