Zynga Closes the Doors on Roller Coaster Kingdom

Facebook, Social

Roller Coaster Kingdom is no more. Developer Zynga has closed the doors for good on the theme park game, less than a year after the game’s launch.

The game was launched at the end of August 2009 and capped out at 15 million monthly active users. In more recent months, the number of active players had dropped to 1.1 million MAUs, not enough to make the game profitable for the social game giant. Players visiting the app will now be greeted with a message from the developer reading: “We regret to inform you that effective June 29th, 2010, Zynga game network is no longer supporting Roller Coaster Kingdom.” The game has now joined the growing pile of discarded Facebook games.
