To end the week with a bang, Zynga has updated FarmVille to include two new crops, a new job in the Co-Op Farming feature (including a new vehicle) and a change to the game’s standard (free) Mystery Gift contents.
Two New Crops: Zucchini and Rhubarb
If you’ve mastered every other crop in the game, you now have two more options available to you, in the form of Zucchini and Rhubarb.
The Zucchini is available to plant for 120 coins per square and sells for 220 coins per square, after growing for 16 hours. You’ll gain two experience points for each square of the crop that you plant. Zucchini can be mastered, with the first star of mastery being available at 550 harvests.
Meanwhile, the Rhubarb is a lower level crop, available to plant for just 65 coins per square. After allowing it to grow for 16 hours, you’ll be able to harvest the rhubarb for 150 coins per square. You’ll earn a single experience point for each square of the crop that you plant. The rhubarb can also be mastered, with the first star being available at 480 harvests.
New Co-Op Farming Job: Bakery Delivery
A new co-op is available to complete with your friends, titled simply “Bakery Delivery.” The job itself is as simple as its name, and has you growing Wheat for a delivery service who is looking for a new supplier who can keep up with his customers’ demand for Wheat.
The job starts with a time limit of 3 days and 6 hours, and requires you and your partners to grow a total of 1450 squares of Wheat. The Gold Medal can be earned for completing the job in under 1 day and 7 hours, and the prize for such a feat is the new Pickup Truck Seeder, the red farm vehicle that users voted into the game via a poll on the official FarmVille forums.
If you miss that deadline, the Silver Medal is rewarding for finishing in under two days, while anything longer than that will result in the Bronze Medal for you and your team.
New Mystery Gift Items
The free Mystery Gift that you can pass out to friends via the game’s free gifts page has been tweaked this week, receiving a new supply of items inside. While items like fuel, small experience point bonuses and the like are still available in the box, the contents have been upgraded to include new items like the Long Tail Duck, as seen below, and a Jackfruit Tree, along with an Elegant Topiary.
What new items have you received in your Mystery Gifts? Let us know in the comments, and head over to the game’s page to see if you’ve been sent any gifts.
