The game places you in charge of your own population of zombies, which you’ll purchase from the store, care for and eventually sell (if you choose) for a profit. There are lots of different zombie types to choose from, each with their own stats, like how many experience points you’ll earn for purchasing them, how long it takes for them to mature, and of course, their cost, among others.
Zombies aren’t just dead humans, however, as you can raise zombie bunnies, chicks (as in, chickens), hamsters, cats, and even crows, as examples. In this way, the game is much more easily comparable to something like FishVille or Happy Aquarium than it is to a game like Pet Society or PetVille. However, instead of raising fish in a fish tank, you’re raising zombies.
In addition to raising zombies, you can also buy new decorations and accessory items for your village (called flair) and even purchase plants that will mature, at which point they can either be trimmed or sold entirely. If your zombies die (uh… again) your friends can come and claim them for their own village, just as you can travel to theirs to steal their dead zombies.
You’ll unlock both new decorations and new types of Zombies as you level up, with the game containing two types of currency: the general (free) ZP Coins, and the premium currency ZP Bills.
An interesting added feature is a Zombie Horrorscope (that’s not a spelling error) that allows you to choose your sign and read a daily horoscope.
Lastly, as with most respectable Facebook games, you can send your friends free gifts from the game’s free gifts page, with the items being things like zombie Black Crows or Pink Bunnies, and even flowers, trees and various decorative items.
According to the latest App Data figures, Zombie Pets has been steadily rising in users over the past few weeks, and now sits at around 65,000 monthly active users. Want to join them? Head over to the game’s page on Facebook.
