Casual, Frisky Misc, iPad, iPhone, Mobile, PC, PopCap

Every day, TriplePoint client AppGratis locates an app that they think ought to be free for a day. We download and take a look for ourselves to let you know what awaits you – why not? It’s free.

I want to tell you to stop what you’re doing right now and go get PopCap’s fantastic Plants vs. Zombies, which is a real gem, and a heck of a title to be getting for free on today’s AppGratis. On the other hand, I’m not sure if I’m comfortable being responsible for costing you the rest of your day. If you’ve never played this delightful tower defense game before, you’re in for a treat; it’s well worth the normal $2.99 asking price and — lost productivity aside — there is pretty much no reason not to grab it while it is $0.00.

If you have somehow managed to live the last four years without seeing any of the charming art, hearing the fun music, or sampling the remarkably accessible gameplay, it’s important that you correct those errors so that you and I can still be friends. PvZ plays a little bit like “My First Tower Defender,” giving you simple drag-and-drop gameplay to lay down your pea-spitting plants and collect little orbs of sunlight to afford reinforcements while the world’s cutest zombies shamble towards your house. Once the game starts introducing new plants and new zombie types, however, it starts to unfold into a strategic and frenetic title that you will not be able to put down.

Seriously. Check out AppGratis today and get this game.
