We first became aware of Lumi, a little light-hearted game about magnets and how they work, back when the game launched. Lumi, a jumping-and-flinging-and-world-illuminating platformer, captured our hearts and delighted our eyes with its Lite version, so it’s certainly a bright piece of news to hear the full version is free today via AppGratis.
Lumi’s been out for a while, but for the unfamiliar, the game starts playing the way you’d expect from a touchscreen platformer, ambling forward with a left-thumb joystick and hopping with the right-thumb button. From there, though, you can re-tap the jump button to have Lumi drawn in to one of several nearby magnets, where he’ll diligently stick until you fling him off in any direction you choose. Once you’ve mastered those moves, the tutorial ends and then OH MY GOD THE WORLD WAS JUST CONSUMED BY SOME SHADOWY HORROR. It’s kind of a jarring change, but it does provide the impetus to traverse the game’s large, varied levels in search of fireflies and light up some trees to fix the mess.
If exploration and clever navigation are your thing, then you can start attacking the darkness for free today.
