Playdom has made the prospect of picking up trash and opening treasure chests in Tiki Resort a bit more interesting by adding a touch of mystery to the experience.

Now, each time you check a treasure chest or pick up a piece of trash, you’ll have the chance of winning 1000 shells. In the case of the treasure chests, there’s also a chance to find five of the newly released tourist charms, like the pineapple, coconut drink and lei.

One other minor tweak to the game has seen Playdom return the ability to purchase more shells for use within the game, via a button next to your in-game shell counter.

To try your luck at finding 1000 free shells, head over to your resort and start picking up that trash!
