On May 11th, the internet was abuzz with news that Natal would definitely be launching in October. The news was received from apparent Marketing Manager E&D Microsoft Saudi, Syed Bilal Tariq, who told Gamertag Radio the following: “I do have great news to share with everybody. Project Natal will be launched in Saudi Arabia and in the world…that is going to be somewhere in October.”

The claims have since been disputed by the rest of Microsoft as unfounded. Microsoft Xbox product director Aaron Greenberg told Variety, “We have not announced any date except that it will be available this holiday.” A holiday release means that Natal could be released anywhere from September to December, but an October or November launch is more likely. We’ll have to wait until E3 for more details, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see video game stores like Gamestop start taking pre-orders this summer.
