Writing for Frisky Mongoose has taught me an undeniable truth about the human condition: People dig free stuff. I would therefore be remiss if I did not offer this opportunity to win a free copy of Cogitate for the iPhone/iPod Touch, generously provided by a representative of developer Momocat Studios. Read on for details!
Cogitate, released last week onto the App Store, is a puzzle game that draws inspiration from the cherished Rubik’s Cube. Imagine, if you will, if one were to take the Rubik’s Cube apart, and lay out all of its sides into one large grid — that is Cogitate in a nutshell, which challenges players to drag a scrambled mesh of colors back into their proper order. Do so in fewer moves than it took to scramble it, and win big bonuses. Add in a wealth of OpenFeint achievements, leaderboard support, and an original soundtrack, and you’ve got the complete Cogitate package.
Cogitate sells for $1.99 on the App Store, but you can win a copy of your own right here, in this very post. I don’t know about you, but the concept of a touch-screen Rubik’s Cube sounds fairly awesome to me. What other real-world puzzles or toys would you like to see adapted to a digital interface? If nobody has made the Operation game on a touch screen, I think now is the time. Leave us a comment with your idea for a classic toy which would translate well to a digital medium; we’ll be giving a free copy of Cogitate to the commenter with the best answer. Be sure to use a valid email address and a registered Disqus account so we can get you your prize!
The contest will end on Friday, February 5th.
If you’d like to pick up Cogitate without all of this “contest” nonsense, you can buy the game here: ![]()
Full Disclosure: A PR representative for Momocat Studios issued a press release with an offer of promotional copies of Cogitate. We asked nicely, and received one.
