iPad, iPhone, Mobile

With so many games being released on the iTunes app store, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with which ones you should or shouldn’t be playing on your iPhone. Thankfully, we have the review round-up to show you the best games available on the app store, complete with summaries and reviews from all around the web.

We Farm for iPad

What would happen if FarmVille was built from the ground up for the iPhone? We Farm is one form of what would come about, as it takes the best aspects from We Rule and turns it on its head with a farm theme. Instead of a kingdom to run, you can now run your own farm, complete with farmhouse, chicken coops and pig pens along with crops to grow and manage. Having the aspect of farm animals on top of crops adds an additional layer of depth not seen in games like FarmVille.

Of course, the social aspect of We Farm kicks in quickly as you can, as in We Rule, can visit your friends’ farm and place orders for certain items in their farms. Slidetoplay reviewed the game and said that the problem with We Farm is “Visiting your friends’ farms is also a bore. You click on one of their items and, hours later, a pop-up appears saying the activity you participated in is over. You get XP and gold for it, but no entertainment. What good is ostrich racing at your Plus+ pal’s farm if you can’t actually watch it?” However overall: “It’s got a few flaws, but anyone who wants to be a virtual hick should check it out.”

Tetra3D for iPhone

Without changing the formula entirely, Tetra3D updates the way Tetris is played by offering a 3D perspective and different block formations than what most players are used to. Due to the nature of being a 3D title, the game doesn’t necessarily have the same flow as 2D Tetris but is still fun in its own right.

In their review, GameZebo said that Tetra3D is “a successful, playable 3D Tetris of sorts” and that “It’s tricky to make a block-based puzzler that fully utilizes the third dimension while remaining fun and accessible, but Tetra3D achieves just that.”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5. Price: 99¢.
