Frisky Misc, PC

The newly announced Wargame: AirLand Battle from TriplePoint client Focus Home Interactive has a lot of words kind of squished together in its title, doesn’t it? Come to think of it, so does “TriplePoint.” All right, from now on I’m calling the publisher “FocusHome.” Fair’s fair.

In all seriousness, though, FocusHome has gone and announced the newest title in their entirely-too-detailed strategy series, following on the heels of European Escalation. Apparently, what sets this game apart from its highly detailed predecessors is… let’s see here… “a level of detail never before seen in a real-time strategy game.” Wow. Okay, so, at this point I guess we can expect to actually smell the tank fuel and never quite get the stains of blood and machinery out of our uniforms.

From the press release:

Wargame: AirLand Battle allows players to command all military resources of the Cold War era from tanks to planes. A total of 150 planes strengthen the playable arsenal of the game, from fighters to bombers to electronic warfare planes. Four new nations and their vehicles join the original eight from the first installment, making a total of over 750 vehicles and combat units rendered in realistic detail! Wargame: AirLand Battle also brings authenticity to the next level thanks to a new weapons system, better handling of fire effects, and a new Urban Combat Interface (UCI) allowing for battle inside cities.

Look for Wargame: AirLand Battle some time in 2013.
