Voting Opens for 2009 Best App Ever

Which iPhone apps are your top picks for the year? The democracy enthusiasts at Best App Ever would like you to stop by and vote, in anticipation of the 2009 Best App Ever Awards! With nominee lists compiled by judges from Wired, IGN, PocketGamer, and dozens of other mobile-oriented entities, it is now up to John Q. Internet to vote for the truly outstanding apps in more than 50 categories.

Last year’s awards recognized mind-boggling music recognition app Shazam as the Best App Ever, and gave props to quality games like Fieldrunners, Rolando, and Touchgrind. There are fully 25 game-related categories to vote on this year, including “Best Graphics,” “Best Controls,” “Most Innovative,” and “Best Use of Social Gaming Platform Game.” Categories also include “Most Useful,” “Best Productivity Killer,” “Best Outdoor Use,” and many more.

The ten nominees for the overall “Best App Ever” award for 2009 are:

Hmm. Eight games, one social networking app, and one actual utility. But, honest, I use my iPhone for… restaurant reservations, and… voice memos. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
