Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is a Virtua Reality

Console, Frisky Misc, XBLA

We warned you! We were all, “Guys, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is totally coming out in June! Don’t act surprised if you get punched in the eye that day.” Well, now it’s happening, so any horrible virtua injuries you sustain are your own fault from this point forward. VF5FS is out now on PSN, and tomorrow for XBLA. It’s fifteen bucks.

For a limited time, too, there’s a “Complete Edition” on PSN, which bumps the price up to $30 but comes with every last bit of character-customizing DLC in one neat package. No matter which version you snag, though, you get a mess of stuff:

  • 19 characters, including the return of VF favorite Taka-Arashi and newcomer Jean Kujo
  • Dynamic and interactive arenas
  • Overhauled fighting mechanic
  • Robust Training Mode including frame advantage display
  • Eight player Online Room Match with lobby system
  • Match Record
  • Based on Version A, the current version available in Japanese arcades
  • DLC content with hundreds of customizable items for each character

So get on that. And wear a mouth guard, for Pete’s sake.
