Beautiful Grim is an art auction fundraiser being supported by some 200 artists who have worked in the video game industry as concept artists and animators, along with artists from other sectors including photography and even sculptors.

The fundraiser was started to help a young woman named Cat, who, at 25, was diagnosed with breast cancer while working for Mythic Entertainment. Cat’s husband Daarken, also an employee of Mythic Entertainment, teamed with Leif Jeffers, an animator at DreamWorks to form the fundraiser, and together, they have called upon the artists that they know from their respective fields and beyond to contribute pieces of art to their fund-raising efforts.

The Beautiful Grim auction is now live, and is available to view on Ebay. Proceeds are being saved and will be used to help Cat pay for the growing medical bills associated with her battle with cancer. Should the fundraiser collect more money than necessary, all extra funds will be given to a breast cancer charity, the name of which has yet to be disclosed.

“Our appreciation for the artists’ time and talent knows no bounds,” said Daarken, via a press release. “Leif and I felt this was a good way to help Cat with her expenses and an opportunity to bring people together to make a positive impact on a cause that has touched many of us.”
