Facebook, Social

While Social gaming seems to be taking over lately, only a handful of veteran developers have taken on the task of attempting such a game as FarmVille themselves. As a part of a panel of veterans at GDC, some veterans have stated that they are not intimidated of social gaming and ready to jump in at any moment.

The panel sees social gaming as an easy place to experiment with new ideas especially as the medium and popularity of these social gaming is only growing. The risk and development time is low making it the ideal time to take those risks. Of course, the most appealing part of social gaming is the reward of that risk. FarmVille has over 80 million players and has tremendous success. Not only that but they also believe they can expand on the current offerings bringing an experience that is more social driven than just gifts and invites.
