Verizon Slashes KIN Prices Due to Slow Sales

Wed, Jun 30, 2010

Verizon Wireless appears to be attempting to give the KIN a bit of a boost in sales by slashing prices on the social media phone designed for young adults and teenagers. Both models were slashed with the Kin One now discounted to $29 and the Kin Two now at $49.

Of course, none of the other restrictions were lifted along with it, as the phones still require a two year contract and $29.99/month data plan to use. CNET points out that “sales appear to be below even [Microsoft's] rather modest expectations.”

Being only a month off of release, this can’t be good news for Microsoft’s campaign behind the devices. What do you think of the KIN? Let us know below.
