Do you use Twitter? If so, you’re one of over 75 million people that have done so over the past two months, and have helped Twitter reach a monumental milestone of posting 50 million tweets in a single day.
As reported by Tech Crunch, the 50 million tweets figure comes directly from Twitter, who has tried to strip spam tweets out of the results. Unfortunately, we don’t have access to further stats like which time of day was most popular, which country posted the most, or how many of those 50 million tweets came from repeat users (that is, a person who posts more than single tweet in a day), but the number itself is still staggering.
Twitter’s question, “What’s happening,” is a simple one, and it will be interesting to see just how big the site will become in the future as users continue to answer it.
