Wedding Dash has been released on several platforms, including the PC, Mac and now the iPhone. While the iPhone version has been released for quite a while, the game recently received a massive update to its graphics and we thought it would be a good time to revisit this title thanks to Playfirst.
Wedding Dash on iPhone doesn’t change much as far as the standard Wedding Dash formula goes: You work as Flo and Quinn to run the best wedding planning business possible. This means not only planning the wedding for the soon-to-be newlyweds but running the reception as well.
As Flo, you’ll have to seat guests according to their wishes, serve them appetizers, dinner and dessert as well as ensure that they stay happy while they are in attendance. Once the guests are done eating, they will move to the dance floor automatically allowing more guests to be seated and served. As Quinn during the reception, she will attend to guests’ issues such as a weepy aunt or a dance floor beehive.
Before each wedding, you are given a list of the couples’ wishes as far as cake, food to be served, flowers and honeymoon locations. These vary based on the couple and if you manage to plan the wedding how they like it, you’ll receive a bonus to reach your goal at the reception.
The ultimate goal in Wedding Dash is to earn points and advance to the next level. To do so, it is essential that you attend to the every needs of the wedding guests. You need to make sure they are seated how they like, that they are served food promptly and that Quinn attends to the extra issues that may arise promptly. It can get pretty hectic quickly if you aren’t on your toes the entire time.
To help keep things a bit more calm, you are given the option to upgrade items every few levels. These can be upgrades such as more points for completing tasks or giving Flo faster shoes. Picking the proper upgrade to fit your playing style will help things run more smoothly during the reception.
Controls on the iPhone are very simple and easy to use, with tapping doing all of the work. Tap to pick up food dishes, tap on the guest to give it to them. Of course, the traditional Wedding Dash games are played on a PC/Mac with mouse so it’s no surprise that this would be emulated on the iPhone. The latest update also provided support for the iPhone 4′s retina display so the graphics are high resolution if you have one.
Overall, Wedding Dash plays just how you would expect on the iPhone, with all the bells and whistles of the traditional versions included. While it doesn’t do much unique, playing it on the iPhone makes it a more portable experience. If you’d like to check out Wedding Dash for yourself, head over to the App Store and download it for yourself or try the lite version for a quick peek. Just don’t ring the wedding bells too hard.
