EA has announced a new expansion pack for the Sims 3. The Sims 3: Ambitions will allow users to give their Sims a true career path, other than simply sending the Sims on their merry way everyday and waiting for them to come back and begin their home duties all over again.
The potential careers in Ambitions run the gamut from scientist and doctor to ghost hunter, architect and firefighter. The jobs actually have a real effect on gameplay, as, for example, becoming an architect can allow you to change the look of your town, while inventors can create new gadgets. The investigator career seems especially interesting, since you can apparently solve cases all around your seemingly innocent town.
“The variety of careers to choose from is unmatched and we’ve never given players the opportunity to follow their Sims to work and affect their actions on the job,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio at EA, as reported by Kotaku. “The Sims 3 Ambitions changes that. Players’ actions at work now directly affect their lives, community and neighbors and become an extremely important part of how the game is played.”
The Sims 3: Ambitions is scheduled to launch on the PC this June.
