A Waterproof Case for the iPad

Since its release, the iPad has been all the rage in the world of techies and Apple enthusiasts. Not long after the public got its hands on it, a myriad of videos made it onto Youtube (to take advantage of bragging rights, I’m sure). Some videos feature first time experiences with the iPad, while others have taken more experimental approaches.

Santa Barbara Arts TV (or SBARTSTV) recently tested the iPad’s underwater capabilities and showed the results on Youtube. SBARTSTV claims that the iPad is “virtually water-proof” and that it has gone through this water treatment at least 10 times, working good as new each time. For those who wouldn’t like to take the risk, you could always invest in a waterproof case or a ziploc bag.

After watching a couple videos, the iPad seems to be a pretty resilient gadget. If you must insist, you can probably shower with it. It can take a pretty good beating (however, it will blend). However, if your life is such that you need to take your iPad with you on your underwater adventures, I’d consider re-evaluating your priorities.
