So, a few months ago, we gave props to Fishing Joy from TriplePoint client CocoaChina for hitting the 100 Million Downloads mark. Funny story — they weren’t done yet. This morning, the Cocoas announced that their fishfest is being played by 10 Million people every day, and is pulling down monthly revenue of $6.28 Million. I don’t know how many fish live in the world, but I have to imagine if all of this fishing were occurring outside of the digital realm, we would be pretty much out of fish at this point. Sorry, Charlie. Seriously, I’m really sorry.
From the press release:
…the series is generating $6.28 million in monthly revenue with more than 10 million daily active users (DAU). In the last two months alone, the popular mobile game has doubled its monthly revenue. The franchise’s continued success is attributed to CocoaChina’s expanding distribution and continual optimization of the game, as well as an explosive growth of the Chinese smartphone user base.
CocoaChina intends to talk about this at GDC, if you’re fishing for advice.
