Pocket Creatures puts you in charge of a colorful little animal who lives on a tropical island. You’ll be responsible for its well-being, of course, but more so than that, you’ll be allowed to customize its behavior and appearance by teaching it to love or hate certain objects, as well as manipulating what it eats or when it sleeps.
The island, including its plant life and indigenous animal population, can be explored and befriended at your leisure, and you can use magical seeds in a garden to grow equally magical fruit that can give your pet the ability to change its environment, among other special powers.
As the game contains more elements than simply feeding or playing with a pet, Tactile Entertainment hopes that they can create a new appreciation for the pet care simulation genre on the iPhone. Founder and CEO Asbjoern Soendergaard looks forward to seeing the game change doubters’ perspective:
“Our philosophy in founding Tactile Entertainment was to bring a new kind of game to the iPhone platform. With Pocket Creatures we feel that we will set a new benchmark for visual fidelity and deliver weeks of open ended gameplay that will change the way everyone thinks about gaming on the iPhone.”
