Back in March, TriplePoint client Tactile Entertainment announced Pocket Creatures, an open-world pet simulation title being developed for the iPhone. Now, the game has launched in full, and you can pick it up on iTunes for the introductory launch price of $2.99.
Pocket Creatures of course allows you to take care of an animal in terms of its well-being, keeping it fed and so on, but more so than that, you’ll be able to customize its personality, teaching it to like certain objects and be gentle and loving, or teach it to hate objects, be ruthless and mean. As you play, you’ll unlock new items with which to dress up your pet and further customize your experience.
As the game takes place on a tropical island, you’ll be able to harness the native wildlife to grow magical fruits that give your pet powers like “Lightning” or “Ice,” and otherwise design your own paradise with these exotic plants.
“I’ve always strived to innovate in some way – when I was at Crytek, our innovation was rooted in graphical fidelity – with Tactile Entertainment and Pocket Creatures, we’ve created an incredibly deep, rich and complex experience on Apple’s mobile platform,” said Asbjoern Soendergaard, Founder and CEO of Tactile Entertainment, via a company press release. “What’s more, despite the amount of variety and complexity we’ve put into the game, it’s very intuitive and easy for just about anyone to jump right into and immediately start having fun.”
