Gamenauts’ first foray into the world of iPhone gaming, Stickbound, was shown off at the Game Developers Conference last week, with Touch Arcade getting some hands on time with the game, in a video that you can check out below.
Stickbound can be very loosely compared to something like Konami’s WireWay on the DS, in that is has you flinging your character around levels, over gaps and so on. Where WireWay saw you using sling-shot like instruments to move your character around, here, you use an extendable stick to pole vault from platform to platform.
The whole object of the game is to travel as far as you can without falling in between two platforms, thus ending your run. The timing of your taps, then, is key to making it over long distances. Stickbound will be released later this month, and will include achievements, unlockable characters, and worldwide high score tables.
