Casual, Handheld

It’s official: there’s a new Final Fantasy coming to the Nintendo DS. The new game is titled Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light and will be arriving in Europe sometime this Fall, and in the US on October 5.

The new game is returning to the franchise’s roots as a traditional RPG; the story is deliciously classic, with four heroes taking off on an adventure to save a missing princess. The battle system is turn-based with customizable controls. The official release touts cooperative play, saying, “Players can join their friends’ adventure with up to four players able to share the fun and conquer dungeons together.” The new headlining feature is the “Crown system” that allows players to switch jobs by changing hats. Over 20 jobs will be available to choose from, including old favorites like Black Mage, White Mage, and Ranger.
