I consider it a personal failing that I’m not using Spotify yet. Well, that, or a failing of the constantly struggling connection and bandwidth where I’m writing from, but, still — a failing. Now, just to add insult to injury, I’m also missing out on SpotON Radio, a new app from TriplePoint client Springworks AB. The app promises to expand your listening repertoire by taking selections from your existing Spotify library and building customized radio stations with similar artists and songs.
So, I guess I can look forward to the app taking my selection of nothing, expanding it into several minutes of dead air, and shaking its head at me. I’m very sorry, SpotON Radio. I will try harder in the future.
From the release:
Rebel and Bird AB together with Springworks AB today announced that SpotON Radio, a new app that creates personalized radio stations based on your Spotify data, will be landing in the App Store for iPhone on January 9, 2012. Launching as a free app, SpotON Radio is the app that takes the Spotify experience to the next level and allows the listener to discover great new music without having to search for it. Using information from the listener’s personal Spotify library, SpotON Radio creates radio stations that mix known favorites with all new songs that the listener most likely will love.
You should be able to spot SpotON on January 9th.
