Casual, Console

Yesterday, Strawdog Studios released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title Space Ark.

Space Ark is described by the developer as a bright homage to games from the 1980′s like Bubble Bobble and Arkanoid. In it, you control one of 28 different characters through 5 worlds as you try to collect fruit by bouncing your character off of a pad towards the top area of the screen and catching it when gravity pulls it back down. You’ll break colored blocks along the way, which triggers the release of fruits as you progress

Collect multiple units of the same colored blocks and you earn bonus fruits which can be collected either by your Arkonaut (your moving character) or the Bounce Pad below. There are 21 different fruits to collect in the game, and they are released in accordance to what blocks you’ve destroyed in the level, with a simple 3 block combo releasing a humble cherry, for instance, while a 15 block combo releases a mighty melon.

Here’s a trailer so you can have a better idea of what to expect from the game later this Spring.
