Sony to Release PlayStation Phone

Fri, Mar 5, 2010

Many have speculated as to why Sony has avoided releasing a phone with the PlayStation brand to market considering they already have a successful mobile gaming device in the PSP. Well, Sony has officially answered with reports of the Japanese electronics company currently working on a phone that will use the PlayStation brand.

As to what the new device entails entirely is still up in the air, but it’s probably safe tos say a few things: It will carry the PlayStation name in some form, it will be capable of playing games and it will be a smartphone. Sony has declined comment on the phone’s look or features but speculation also says it will be coming this year. The Sony Ericsson company will also be likely building the phone rather than the Sony Computer Entertainment division.
