TriplePoint client Social Gold today announced the launch of new payment partnerships with multiple international brands, including Boletos, iDeal, Pago Facil, and IPS. This means that game developers will now be able to offer customized payment options for players in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Argentina, and Brazil.
Why does this matter? First and foremost, for these players, being able to deal in transactions in their own local currencies is cheaper, not to mention easier. Additionally, this should help to boost player conversion rates from free-to-play users to paying customers, as they will be more likely to spend money virtually when dealing with familiar funds.
In addition to the traditional payment options, specific brands will now offer more options to players looking to make payments in their games. Particular examples include Pago Facil’s addition of cash-based payments in Argentina, or IPS’s allowance of real-time bank transfers in the Chinese market.
