Shop For Clothes, Experience Kinect: Playable Demos in Macy’s Stores

Sun, Jul 11, 2010

Microsoft has been toying with gamers’ emotions, offering Kinect demos before the fall release only in Microsoft Stores, all of which happen to be on the west coast. For most of us, that meant that a pre-launch Kinect demo was still only a pleasant dream. Now, the amount of locations has more than quadrupled: starting July 15th, Kinect will be playable at select Macy’s locations.

Seem like a weird place to go play Xbox 360? I’m inclined to agree, but I bet the 13 Macy’s stores hosting the demos will see a large influx of shoppers as previously reticent partners suddenly demonstrate a willingness to hang out in a clothing store for hours on end. The locations are spread across the continental U.S. (sorry, Alaska and Hawaii) and a full list can be found over at 1up. Additionally, the Macy’s website will be giving away a Kinect per day between August 12 and September 10.
