Telltale Games, better known for Sam & Max and Tales of Monkey Island, announced a new game this week called Puzzle Agent. The title has the player controlling FBI Agent Nelson Tether, uncovering mysteries in a town called Scoggins, Minnesota. The game play appears to mesh Telltale’s story-telling methods with Professor Layton style puzzles.
Puzzle Agent is the first project in the studio’s Pilot Program. The program is similar to a pilot system in TV; trial episodes of games will be produced to test the waters and see if there is a potential for future episodes. We can infer from this that if Puzzle Agent is well received, there will be future episodes in the series. Telltale is developing the game for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and WiiWare. The game is scheduled to be released on all announced platforms in June 2010. You can check out videos and screenshots at the official site here, as well as pre-order it for $9.95.
