A new feature is coming to Zoo World in the near future, as developer RockYou has announced (via the game’s forums) that you’ll soon be able to unlock full islands with the help of your Zoomates, rather than just unlocking sections of islands by species.
The island limit for each user will remain at 10 islands, but RockYou assures us that you won’t need hundreds of neighbors to unlock any of your 10 – additionally, you’ll still be able to keep any and all islands you’ve already unlocked.
On the island bar, you’ll see a list of islands, and by hovering over them, you’ll see how many neighbors are required to add a map to that spot. For instance, one of the final island unlocks with 50 Zoomates. Once you meet the requirements to purchase a new island, you can click on the + symbol that appears and purchase a map for it, with three new island maps being prepared for this release.
The three maps will all be available for Zoo Cash, and they will be unlocked based on your level – say, a map that doesn’t unlock for purchase until you are level 30, as an example.
One last change comes with older maps, as RockYou will be reducing the amount of paths on said islands, freeing up more space for animal habitats, kiosks and the like.
