iPhone, Mobile

Yesterday afternoon, Rockstar Games announced the release of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Lite for the iPhone and iPod Touch. As the name indicates, this is a “lite” or demo version of the title that will introduce unfamiliar players with Huang Lee, a spoiled rich kid, who is forced to help his uncle on a quest for revenge against rival gangs, while meeting new and unique characters, and experiencing touch controlled gameplay that isn’t found in the console installments of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

The demo includes the full game’s first three missions, but instead of paying $9.99 to download the full game, you can download this small chunk for free. Note that as a mature title, you must be older than 17 to download it.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars received high praise from critics when it was first brought from the Nintendo DS to the iPhone platform – if you’ve ever been interested in trying it, now’s your chance.
