Rixty Adding Facebook Credits to CoinStar

Thu, Jul 8, 2010

Rixty, a service known for converting real money into virtual currency of all kinds for online games is moving into the Facebook space for the coin changing service CoinStar. This means you could take your pile of change to a CoinStar and instead of receiving cold hard cash, you would receive a number of Facebook credits instead.

Social Times took a look at Rixty and their plans for this new service that would bring Facebook credits as an option to around 20,000 CoinStar locations around the country. They believe that this will bring a whole new element to the idea of Facebook credits by allowing people to just use some old change lying around in order to buy premium items in games.

How exactly the process will work is unknown, but I would imagine it’ll be very simple in that you’ll dump your change into the machine and given a redemption code to type in on Facebook. We’ll have more details on this new feature when it becomes available.
