Riddim Ribbon Jumps to Number One in App Store

iPhone, Mobile

As we reported last week, Tapulous recently released Riddim Ribbon, an iPhone music racer or sorts that resembles Audiosurf in aesthetics but has you avoiding obstacles rather than matching like-colored blocks.

The game’s licensed music features tracks from the Black Eyed Peas, which has apparently struck a chord with many fans, sending Riddim Ribbon flying to the top of the App Store’s sales charts, past long-standing success like EA’s Rock Band.

Part of this could be due to the game’s low price of $2.99 (Rock Band is $6.99, as an example), but apparently quality has something to do with it as well, as Games Beat is reporting that around 63% of the game’s ratings on the App Store have been five stars.
