Speaking on CNBC, Nintendo of America’s President and CEO Reggie Fils-Aime claimed that almost one million users have participated using Netflix’s touted instant streaming service on the Wii.
Reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Fils-Aime’s statement regarding the Netflix service debunks analyst predictions about how the service would fare on the Wii. According to Michael Pachter, “the Wii installed base will embrace the Netflix service only gradually.”
With there being over 30 million Wiis in the wild, Pachter still could be slightly correct although one million connected and streaming since the service launched on April 12th is a rather stark contrast to Pachter’s original statement.
Also, thanks to Joystiq, we now have a video of Fils-Aime’s statement if you wish to see it for yourself.
