Arcade, Casual, iPhone, Mobile

Reader’s Digest has partnered with Fit Brains to create video games based on the Word Power franchise. Three games are out, two for the PC and one for the iPhone. Word Power: Recharged is available for free play online, Word Power: Green Revolution will cost you $19.99 to download on your PC, and Word Power: Brain Spark will cost $2.99 on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

All three games focus on educational, word-based gameplay and sport a rich story, full cast of characters, and tycoon elements. The word activities should be familiar to Reader’s Digest subscribers, but for those of who don’t regularly partake, the activities are described as a “fun fusion” of Scrabble and Text-twist. The Fit Brains web page is advertising thousands of words, phrases and challenges, as well as Facebook connection for leaderboards, ranks and awards.

Says Michael Cole, CEO of Fit Brains, “Our goal was to take the successful essence of word power and layer in positive game themes such as green energy to make it a more engaging experience.” Remember, one of the games is free so you can try it out with no risk here.
