Project Pink Phones to Be Unveiled at Microsoft Event

Mobile, Social

A few days ago, Microsoft sent out invitations to a “mystery” press event set for April 12th. The invitations gave no word on what the event would be about (hence the “mystery”) but Gizmodo believes they have cracked the code that Microsoft will be unveiling the Project Pink phones that have popped up occasionally.

These phones, if announced, would be targeted for the teen/young adult crowd. I would also expect them to feature such services as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and more. Without those services, these phones would most likely fail because so many young people use them every day and want them in their mobile devices.

The ultimate question here is whether or not these phones would steal any thunder from the two current big dogs, iPhone and Android. Time will tell, I suppose and speculation certainly doesn’t help anything. I would need to see the phones and their full functionality list before I passed judgement.
