Casual, Handheld, iPad, iPhone, Mobile

TriplePoint client Scary Robot Studios did not pick their name just to sound cool (although they totally do). The new app development studio is the brainchild of Dustin Adair, a professional animator whose works include Cylons, Terminators, Transformers, and other killer machines for movies and television. Bob, the star of Adair’s debut iPhone game, “Poker with Bob,” is perhaps less lethal than his other creations, but he plays a mean hand of Five Card Draw.

Poker with Bob made its way onto the App Store today for $0.99, complete with multiplayer gameplay via Bluetooth – and, of course, one-on-one play versus Bob himself. Bob, a square-jawed smart-alec with a quick shuffle and a quicker wit, is already being praised by reviewers at 148apps and Nine Over Ten for bringing some personality to the table.

I guess, if financial ruin at the hands of a digital rounder is the kind of thing that scares you, Bob is a Scary Robot, too. You can meet him, below, in the game’s debut trailer.
