As reported by Gamasutra, Facebook game developer Playdom has announced that they have hired a new Chief Technology Officer in David Sobeski, who was formerly an executive at Microsoft and Yahoo. Playdom has hired Sobeski to take charge of the studio’s tech initiatives.

Sobeski has worked as a development manager on MSN.com, working on Internet Explorer and Microsoft’s Java Virtual Machine. He also worked on Windows Vista and Microsoft Exchange Server, giving him plenty of experience in the industry.

“We are proud to have one of the finest engineering groups in the Valley and after months of searching we’ve found someone worthy to lead it,” says Playdom’s CEO John Pleasants. “David brings tremendous value to the company, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”
