While it might be an insignificant “holiday” to most of us, Zynga has proven today that they are willing to take every occasion seriously by releasing a handful of items in a April Fool’s Day theme, with items being found under the Seeds, Animals, Buildings, and Decorations tabs of the marketplace.
To start, for the next 15 hours, users can grow Nachos on their farms. Yes, you read that correctly, I said nachos. They are purchased for 25 coins a “seed” (in this case, the seed is a bad of tortilla chips), and “grow” in just two hours, at which time you can harvest them for 50 coins per square. While, yes, it would be easy to question the validity of not only the Nacho item, but all of these April Fool’s items, I currently have a field of nachos growing as we speak (see the screen below), so they seem to be the real deal.
Meanwhile, over on the Animals tab, you can pick from a variety of fictional new animals. A Jackalope (combo between Jack Rabbit and Antelope), Groovy Goat, and Psuedocorn (think Horse and Unicorn) are now available to purchase, each for Farm Cash. The Groovy Goat is the cheapest option, at 14 Farm Cash, and it can be harvested every two days. The Psuedocorn is available for 16 Farm Cash, and can also be harvested, although only every three days. Lastly, the Jackalope is the most expensive new animal, at 20 Farm Cash, and it can be harvested every two days.
Continuing on, the Buildings tab of the marketplace now offers a Mini Villa for 10,000 coins. The item fits its name, as you can see from the screenshot below (taken next to my avatar to show you scale). You’ll gain 100 experience points for purchasing it.
Finally, the Decorations tab of the marketplace now offers an item that gives a nod to one of the world’s largest “tales of legend.” The Lake Nessy item find the Loch Ness Monster rising its head above the water of a small lake. It’s a fairly pricy item, at 56 Farm Cash, but it’s sure to make a statement, for those who wish to place it somewhere on their farm.
Aside from the Nachos, which are only available for the next 15 hours, these items will all be in the store for the next 6 days, giving you a bit of time to decide just how much you like April Fool’s Day, and decorate accordingly. Head over to the game’s page to purchase any of these items for yourself.
