Social Games Central has brought news of a new item update in Pet Society in the form of movie inspired costumes and props.

The items in question: sunglasses, Robin Hood’s cap, an astronaut’s suit, a pirate’s hat, a Kill Bill inspired outfit, planet decorations (and more) can be used to fulfill your pet’s imaginary dreams, and you are encouraged to let your imagination run wild, as Playfish has launched a contest in addition to the new items.

The Pet Society Movie Awards challenges users to recreate their favorite scene from a movie, using Pet Society items, with exclusive in-game items and 1000 Playfish Cash being up for grabs to the winner. Full details can be found here.

Some of the items themselves are quite pricy – the pirate’s hat alone is 2,000 coins – so be sure to start saving up now if you wish to add these items to your pet’s virtual wardrobes.
