I’ve already discussed Pandora in the past concerning the awesome mobile apps available that take advantage of the constantly-learning internet radio service. However, at the Facebook f8 developer conference, CEO Mark Zuckerburg helped introduce Pandora’s latest and greatest feature which integrates Facebook tightly into the service.
Facebook has opened a new door with its Open Graph protocol which will give Pandora the ability to look over your Facebook profile and dig deeper into which bands and artists you like. The choices are based on the “Info” pane in your profile as well as “Liked” pages or groups.
Digging even further, the integration will eventually grow by leaps and bounds by allowing you to “Like” bands on their own or fan sites and Pandora will pick up on this information and integrate it with your profile. Zuckerburg commented that this new integration “instantly social and personalized experiences.”
The changes are live on Pandora now so I would encourage you go give them a try, they’re a neat experiment for now if anything.
