5 million downloads? On the iPhone store? Most app developers only wish they could have such success on the app store. OpenFeint runs a promotion called “Free Game of the Day” and as the title might suggest, it is a promotion that promotes free games at one per day. The successful venture has generated 5 million downloads in these free games.
150,000 apps exist in the iPhone app store which makes it difficult to weed through and find the gems, especially in free games. The OpenFeint project features certain deserving games to be downloading. This promotion frequently features these games to 15 million game fans.
