OnLive Starts Handing Out Free Memberships

Tue, Jun 1, 2010

If you were one of those lucky people to pre-register for the OnLive service, you may now register for your free account. The free service is set to last for one year, and also comes with one free game.

According to Edge, the idea that users should pay for the service as well as pay for games has struck controversy. The move also prompted OnLive’s rival service Gaikai to say that the subscription fee was a “shot in the arm” for it.

Any judgements will likely have to be made after the service launched on June 17th. The service will be playable on either a PC or a Mac. This offer is only available to those who registered. You should be seeing an email shortly if you qualify for this promotion.
