iPhone, Mobile

Oceanhouse Media has announced the launch of three new Dr. Seuss apps on the iPhone. Two of the apps carry on in the company’s tradition of translating Dr. Seuss’s classic tails to interactive eBooks, while the third is a game for both children and open-minded adults alike.

For the eBooks, you can now purchase One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, each for $3.99. The eBooks function in the same way as other stories released in the series, in that there are three ways to read them. You can either read the book manually, and silently, or you can allow the app to do all of the work, with a narrator reading the words and turning the pages, or, finally, you can strike some middle ground, letting the narrator do the reading, but your child turns the pages.

As for the new game, “Up With A Fish” asks you to stack objects on top of fish bowls which are placed precariously on top of the Cat in the Hat’s hat. You’ll accomplish this by tilting left and right to catch the objects as they fly in from the top of the screen. Catching Things ruins your tower, but catching additional fish bowls increases your score multiplier.

All three apps are now available on iTunes. Here are convenient links for all three:
