Do you like to play Sudoku on your iPhone? How about jigsaw puzzles? A simple shooting game? Those are each worth a dollar or so, right? NordCurrent, a European developer, thinks they are — but would also like to give you 98 other games for that $2.99 price tag. The company issued a press release today, announcing the January 28th availability of 101-in-1 Games for the iPhone.
Technically, the 101 selections are referred to as “mini-games,” but that won’t keep them from having some choices with longevity or substance. In addition, the game collection, which will range “from puzzle games and fast-paced arcade action, to racing, sports, cooking, shooting, and Sudoku,” will have an overlying meta-game to tie them all together. Players will start with only 10 games available, and will have to unlock the rest by excelling at the initial mini-games.
Way to go, NordCurrent. You just altered the iPhone app pricing model to 3 cents a game. I think other developers may have some strong words for you.
