New Hot Shots Tennis Being Served on PSP in June

Casual, Handheld

Last week brought the official announcement of the new Hot Shots Tennis game via the Playstation blog: Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip, for the Sony Playstation Portable. The game will be “served” (get it?) on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 on both UMD and PSN.

The screenshots look promising; the game looks as bright and colorful as its predecessors, with all the in-your-face tennis action we’ve come to expect from the franchise. The game is introducing some new features, including the new Story Mode that centers around exploration and world travel. It sounds a little like Mario Tennis, which is definitely a good thing! There will also be a host of unlockable items, including costumes, characters, courts and more, with each challenge granting you new items to enhance your character customization.

And a new twist to the US version: Helghast from Killzone will appear in the game as a character. No word yet on whether he will be playable or just an opponent. You can pick up Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip on June 29, and producer Chris Hinijosa-Miranda hints that a demo will be coming soon.
