My Vineyard Adds New Social Farming Game to Facebook

Facebook, Social

If you can’t get enough of your farming fix through Farmville, Metaplace’s new Facebook game “My Vineyard” might be right up your alley. Instead of harvesting watermelons, carrots, cotton and the like in Farmville, however, as the name suggest you’ll be making one thing in My Vineyard–wine.

Much like other Facebook games, My Vineyard will feature strong social components to the game. After all, what’s a Facebook game without having hooks to get your friends involved in the game? My Vineyard’s particular way is interesting to say the least: Instead of having a set number of a friends that allows you to expand your space in the game (like Social City or Farmville), your wine receive higher marks if you get more and more of your friends to “taste” your product.

There are some other social game trappings as well, including the ability to build a house through your friends helping you with different components. Currently, My Vineyard is in beta and boasts 47,000 monthly active users, according to AppData.
