Most Social Brand in 2009: iPhone

If you blog, or if you Tweet, or if you share your thoughts on Facebook, it’s not just your friends who are interested in your thoughts. Vitrue, a “social media management company” which tracks discussions on various social networks that happen to mention prominent brands, has compiled its list of 2009′s “Top Social Brands.” Topping the list at #1 is the iPhone, Apple’s ubiquitous mobile device, beating out Disney at #2 — and Apple itself at #8.

Speaking to AdWeek about the list, Vitrue points out that the iPhone has managed to generate this amount of buzz despite not being a product with its own Facebook page or Twitter feed.

As to the other game-related brands, the Wii came in at #7, ahead of Xbox at #9, and PlayStation at #13.
